Refurbishments
Steel windows and doors are known for their durability, but over time, they may show signs of wear. Our comprehensive refurbishment service not only restores their original beauty but also upgrades their performance with modern glazing and improved insulation. This environmentally responsible solution allows you to preserve the architectural integrity of your property while enhancing both comfort and energy efficiency. Refurbishment is especially ideal for Listed Buildings, where replacing original windows may not be an option.
Modern Efficiency

Cotswold Steel Windows
Our Promise to Preserve Heritage
Our process begins with a thorough assessment of each frame to identify areas requiring attention, such as rust, damaged seals, loose hardware, or outdated glazing. Our skilled craftsmen carefully remove any corrosion, repair or replace damaged components, and apply protective coatings to prevent future deterioration. We then install new single or double glazing options as necessary, ensuring that your refurbished windows and doors meet modern thermal standards.
By retaining the original steel framework, you maintain the charm and character of your building while benefiting from enhanced security and overall functionality. Combining traditional techniques with modern technology, our team is able to rejuvenate even decades-old steel frames, transforming them into stunning, functional showpieces that stay true to their historical style. Whether you’re restoring a single heritage window or undergoing a full property overhaul, we approach each project with the same commitment to quality and attention to detail.

No, as you’re not changing or altering the windows, you do not need listed building consent to undertake this work. The only time you would need this, is if you were planning to change the colour or style of your windows.
-
All our refurbished windows go through an intensive refurbishment process, we remove all the old paint by shotblasting the frames, this removes any of the old corrosion in the frames. We then use a base thermal zinc layer to prevent the windows from rusting, then topped off with a powder coat finish of your choice to further protect the windows.
-
If your windows are steel, we can refurbish them. If you’re unsure, contact our team and we’ll be able to advise if window refurbishment is suitable for your property.
